Alexandria Collins is an LA based film director, screenwriter and actress. Her current project, a comedic series titled BRA STRAPS (fka Goals N’ Shit), raised over $20,000 via crowdfund and was named one of Seed and Spark’s 12 Favorite Teasers of 2018. It is currently being shopped for distribution with digital outlets.
Alexandria hails from Tallahassee, FL where she attended Florida A&M University majoring in Broadcast Journalism. Her thesis documentary LOVE PLUS, chronicling the relationship highs and lows of plus size women, won the 1st place Associated Press Award for Best Doc.
Post college, Alexandria lived in NYC where her comedic short, MILK RUN, premiered in competition at the New York City International Film Festival and was selected for over 20 film festivals nationwide. She also directed several episodes of the limited series, HILLARY (available on Amazon Prime). Her work spans genres and she’s most passionate about telling unique narratives of women of color.
As an actress, Alexandria has starred in several award winning projects, including the official Cannes selection, THE COLLEGIANS. She’s appeared in international commercials for brands (Apple, Crest, Marshall’s etc.) and on ABC’s Time After Time and Amazon’s Bosch.
Alexandria has several shorts and series pilot scripts in her reservoir and is developing two impactful feature film scripts depicting Black women in ways we’ve not seen in cinema. She plans to continue creating meaningful content through her digital series and use her talents to work within the industry as a television and film director.
